Here is a small sampling of what our club does in and for
our community and world.
We Support or sponsor:
- The free Summer Concert series.
- A Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop
- The community Easter Egg hunt.
- Area 4-H Clubs.
- CARE International, working to end child
labor in Bolivia.
- The Lions Club International Foundation,
the grant-making arm of Lions Clubs International.
- The Moses Lake Youth Partnership Task
Force.
- The Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight &
Hearing, operators of the largest eye bank in the nation.
- The Moses Lake High School Senior Frolic.
- The Moses Lake Food Bank.
- Habitat for Humanity.
- Construction and expansion of the
General Doolittle Fun Park in Moses Lake.
Our club:
- Collects eyeglasses and hearing aids for
the Northwest Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center.
- Arranges for eye examinations and glasses
for members of the community who can otherwise not afford this service.
- Sponsors attendees at a camp for young
people with diabetes.
- Helps obtain hearing aids for those who
can not afford them.
- Purchased an Opti-Lec Reader for use by
the visually impaired for the Moses Lake Library.
- Arranges for visits from the Lions Health
Screening Unit, a mobile unit that performs free vision, diabetes and
other checks for students and members of the community.
- Participates the American Cancer Society
Relay for Life walk.
- Replaced the ceiling tiles at the Moses
Lake Senior Center.
- Established an eyeglass recycling
transportation hub. Used eyeglasses donated to our and other area
Lions Clubs are checked, sorted and delivered to the Northwest Lions
Recycling Center
- Built wheelchair ramps for members of
the community.
